当協会は、日本を代表する作曲家であった故一柳慧氏によって2010 年に設立された組織であり、日本とフィンランド両国の文化交流の足掛かりとして様々な演奏会・シンポジウム等を展開しています。「音楽のみに限らず、多方面においてのつながりを持ち、活動の場を拡げていくことを目的」とした設立当初の一柳氏の意志を継ぎ、音楽と多様な文化との関わりを見出していくことを我々の基本姿勢としています。

Japan-Finland Contemporary Music Society (JFCMS) was founded in 2010 by the late Toshi Ichiyanagi, one of Japan’s leading composers, and has held various concerts and symposia as a foothold for cultural exchange between Japan and Finland. Our basic stance is to find a relationship between music and various cultures, following the intention of Toshi Ichiyanagi when he founded the association, which was “to expand the scope of our activities by establishing links in various fields, not limited to music alone”.
